Why should I choose a New Zealand education?

A learner focused style of teaching

Students are placed at the centre of the teaching-learning process. Students are more active and participative, and the process turns knowledge into a negotiation between teachers and students.

Hands on learning

Students are given opportunities to develop their crafts and hobbies to complement their academic studies. These subjects not only earn credits but more importantly, equip them with life skills.

They can choose to study Food Technology, Hard Materials Technology, Fabric Technology and Digital Technology.

Critical thinking skills development

In this digital age, access to information is effortless but the ability to question, analyse, dissect and evaluate information has never been more important.

NZ classrooms highly encourage a student's ability to think 'outside the box'. Going against the tide is not a form of rebellion anymore; it is now considered visionary.

Creative arts integration

There are opportunities for self-expression in the NZ secondary school curriculum.

Art History, Dance, Drama, Music, Design, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture and Painting are amongst the subjects they can choose to study.

Sports orientation

There will always be a sport that you currently enjoy or had wished to learn while growing up. In New Zealand, every student is invited to join at least one winter or summer sport.

Engaging in individual or group sport promotes self-disciple, engagement, benchmarking and participation skills. You develop and carry these skills with you long after you leave school.

Supportive learning environment

We will take care of you.

Each school has an International Student Department whose exclusive job is to look after your welfare. A Homestay Coordinator works alongside the Director to ensure that homestay families are vetted and informed of expectation.

South Immigration Matters is also just a phone call away and will be available to assist you.

Understanding NCEA

The National Certificate of National Achievements (NCEA) is the main national qualification for secondary school students in New Zealand.

Students build on their skills and credits - and they last forever.
